Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Now I know there is a lot of hype around the Nars Sheer Glow foundation at the moment - but seriously guys, this stuff is gold. I decided to splurge on this base because, as I said in my previous post, my BB cream (ie, the day foundation) had run out and I wanted a lighter coverage than the other foundation I bought. After checking out reviews online, I kept being directed back to this foundation again and again, so I popped over to the Nars counter when I was travelling around Japan with my friend a few weeks ago.
In stilted Japanese I asked the assistant to help colour match me, and promptly received what was basically a mini facial. After cleansing, massaging and moisturising my face, she matched me to the correct shade (Mont Blanc surprise surprise) and then gave me a makeover. I chose a blush (either Desire or Gaiety, I don't quite know which which is rather annoying because it was lovely) then a lipgloss (Istria I think) to complete the look. When she showed me the final effect, I loved the colour, the feel, everything. I snapped it right up.
After using it for a couple of weeks now, I have literally fallen in love. The coverage is fantastic, evening out your skin tone and covering most blemishes in one easy swipe without any tell tale cakiness. In fact, it just seems to disappear on the skin, leaving it looking healthy, glowy and just plain beautiful. My one gripe is that it really does disappear off my nose (my problem area for foundations) pretty quickly. A touch of powder helps in this department, and I'm currently testing a primer that I'm hoping will help solve this issue, even a little. I'll report back soon.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend checking out this product if you're in the market for a new foundation - it is literally good skin in a bottle.
