One of my favourite brands for eyeshadow is Urban Decay (FYI my favourite shade is Smog) so whenever I heard that a Naked palette was being released I would drool all over the reviews and swatches that sprung up all over the internet. The time was never right for me to get one for myself - I either didn't have the money, or when I did it was sold out!
However, just before I flew to Japan, my mum treated me to the Naked 2 palette, my favourite of the three. I was so overwhelmed because I've been waiting for this palette for so long, and I actually love it. The colours are beautiful, with paler shades for the day and darker, smokier shades to upgrade your look for the night. I do love some sparkle, but for those who aren't so keen there are matte shades that will satisfy you too. The texture of the eyeshadows are so lovely, buttery and ridiculously easy to blend out. The colours are rich and vibrant even without the help of a primer, and have a decent staying power to boot.
As for the packaging, I really like it. Being a tin, it feels sturdy and solid enough to be packed into your holiday makeup bag without worrying whether you will find a horrible mess when you arrive. And it has a lovely big mirror to further add to its travel compatibility. The brush it comes with is double ended, and I find works really well with the shadows. I do prefer to use my own brushes, but I wouldn't complain if I had to use this.
Overall, I do think it is expensive, but a more than worthy treat if you have the money. I use it so much, and it's versatility has no limits; it literally is a joy to own.
Do you have any of the Naked palettes? What are your thoughts on them?
