The Perfect Perfume Partnership

For a while now I've only had one perfume that I kept going back to, and that was the Estée Lauder Sensual (which is still delicious; when I wear it my friend describes me as smelling like 'baths' - I took it as a compliment). But these two perfumes, Narciso Rodriguez For Her and Molecule 01, have really been rocking my world.

When I first heard about the Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 perfume, I was intrigued to say the least. The description of it 'working as more of an effect than a scent' by 'melding with your natural pheromones' had me more than willing to splash the cash, but the reviews on Cult Beauty sealed the deal. When I received it I was pretty underwhelmed - you can smell it when you first spray it (it has a lovely deep, woody, sexy scent), but then it disappears into nothing. I couldn't smell it, and I felt like nobody else could smell it either, so I was a bit bummed out to say the least. After many trials and a few weeks later, Molecule 01 had slowly faded to the back of my draw.

When I rediscovered it one morning, I sprizted it on and then promptly forgot about it. That night I was going out for dinner with some friends and before heading out of the door I put some of my Narciso Rodriguez For Her on. What a combination. Narciso is very sensual, also with woody notes, and combined with Molecule 01, they create something rather special. I feel like the muskiness is deepened, and the sensuality is heightened when they come together, creating the ultimate in sexy scents. It is just divine.

So, despite it being a bit of a disappointment by itself, combined with my Narciso Rodriguez perfume Molecule 01 is definitely placed under the 'repurchase' category. Have you ever tried layer perfumes before?

P.S. I recently wore Molecule 01 by itself, and two people asked me what I was wearing because they loved it so much - I was shocked to say the least, but it has definitely raised my opinion of it again!
