As we get further into the depths of winter, I find that darker colours become more enticing. One of my favourite things to wear this season is a single wash of steel coloured cream shadow on my lids. It's just the perfect way to add a little something more to what would have been just simple everyday makeup, without it becoming too OTT.
The three shadows that I've been rotating for this job are Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre in Illusoire, MAC's Paint Pot in Morning Frost, and a recent purchase from Korea: Espoir's Eyeshadow Cluster in My Privacy. All of them are a little shimmery, which helps me get into the festive mood. The Chanel and Espoir shadows are actually very similar, though Illusoire is slightly more purple and My Privacy is more on the grey end of the scale.
All of them are so easy to just swipe on in seconds, meaning more time in bed for me (something I think we can all appreciate). Espoir's offering is more easily blended onto the lid than Chanel's, but I love the mysterious shade that hovers somewhere between purple and grey that is Illusoire.
Do you have a favourite shade to wear in winter?
