Skin 79 VIP Gold BB Cream

One of the first things I did when I came to South Korea was hunt down all the BB creams that I'd heard raves about. I ended up buying quite a few (to the detriment of my purse), but my favourite of them all is definitely this one.

I actually ended up buying two Skin 79 BB creams, the pink one and this one, which as well as having SPF 25 also has 'wrinkle improvement'. I preferred this one because I found it has a better coverage, and I like the finish better. I was actually really surprised at Korean BB cream coverage - it's nothing like the BB creams in the UK. Here they are thicker, more like a foundation than a tinted moisturiser. Although this one feels like it will be really thick and heavy when it comes out of the bottle, it applies like a dream with either your hands or a brush (I prefer to apply this with my hands and then blend with a brush). The finish is more matte than the pink one, but still has a nice glow. I generally don't set it with any powders, I tend to just whack on some blush (I used Thrrrob by Benefit in the picture above, which has to my utter dismay been discontinued) and leave it as is, and I am happy to say it lasts for hours.

The only problem with Asian BB creams is the choice of shades. This BB cream has only one colour, though some do have a choice between two or three shades. Added to that, they are all quite pale, so those with darker skin won't find any matches. I'm pretty pale (I buy MAC's NC15) and this colour suits me perfectly. When I first opened it however, I was really worried because it comes out a strange, ashy, almost grey colour! But when you apply it to your face, it warms up by oxidizing, so don't be afraid!

I can't really make any comments about its whitening/ wrinkle improving abilities - I haven't really noticed a difference! But as that wasn't the reason I bought this, it is something I can forgive.

Has anybody else tried any Asian BB creams?
