I've always loved the look of a strong purple lip on people, especially in winter, but I have never been confident enough to wear it myself. I usually just stick to a bright red lip. This year however, I decided to search out the perfect purple and commit to wear it more often.
When I first clapped eyes on Revlon's Black Cherry, I knew it was The One. It's just the right shade: not too red, not too brown, but a lovely deep aubergine. It glides onto the lips, creating a beautiful smooth colour (I was a bit worried about the texture - some dark lipsticks can look a bit patchy).
Throw in a strong brow, lashings of mascara and some contouring, and you have a strong, but not overpowering look that is perfect for the colder months.
